Top of the hill to bottom of the hill in 3 seconds flat..

Just when I was raving about how fantastic Tuesday's run was.... I got slammed with a pretty killer cold. I was out of work the last two days and am staying home again tomorrow. It really kicked into high gear today and I went to the doctor's for antibiotics to hopefully slow it down. I battled all day, but am starting to feel a little better now. I hope I get a good night's sleep tonight. I haven't had one of those in a couple days.

As for running, I'm skipping my last two runs of the week this week to see if I can be ready for my long one on Sunday. But, I'm not promising myself anything. If I don't feel right by Sunday, I'm not going out.

On top of all that... My wife gets her first getaway weekend since we had Sophie (18 months). She' going to a scrapbooking weekend with a friend (much deserved). I've got Sophie duty all weekend for the first time EVER. Phew... When it rains, it pours. Can't wait to spend the time. But, I hope this cold is in low gear by then. Or else, I've got my hands full.

The Running Gods are testing you! You will not give in (unless, of course, your cold dictates rest is required).

A few missed runs here and there rarely matter. Usually, its a nice unexpected break that ends up recharging you. Enjoy it!

Yeah... I'm struggling with this. My natural inclination is to just go run. But, I would hate to miss my long one on Sunday. So, I'm using all my will power to stay away until then. Hopefully the Running Gods can respect that.

As for the recharge, I've definitely noticed that in the past.
