So Much For That...

So, my last post was full of optimism and I was on the cusp of getting serious about my running. Then, I go to Boston and NYC for three days and am so busy I don't fit one run in... NOT ONE RUN... So, I'm stuck this week trying to throw some mileage in before I run my Jingle Bell Run on Sunday. Ugh... Will I ever get ahead?

As usual, the new year brings a new challenge... (Read: New Year's Resolution). I think I am finally going to set out to hit 185 this year. After creeping up the scale a bit lately, I've realized that I need to recommit myself. I'm gonna try and make my way through the Christmas holiday without too much added damage. Then, I'm gonna really crank it up.

sorry to hear of your struggles with running. the busy holidays plus the cold weather do make it difficult to get out there. what's been working for me lately is to think about how good i feel after a run, and how i'll lament not going all day/night if i let myself skip it. i also try to remember my long term goals and that i won't get there without pushing through the days when running is the last thing you want to do. make/find a plan that works for you and stick with it! use your blog and readers as accountability to log each run/workout. hang in there!

Fortunately... I have no lack of motivation. But, with a hectic work traveling schedule and a 2 month old (and a 2 year old) at home, it makes it difficult to find time.

Bad week for sure. But, I won't repeat it! :) Thanks for the comment. That has to be my worst week of running since I started 2 years ago. And.. you all do help to make me a little more committed. So, thanks for that!

Tough schedule indeed. I don't know how you do it.

My weight has crept up a little since the Richmond Marathon. Luckily I've managed to nip it in the bud by slowly building the miles up again.

It's tough to find a balance, but at least you know you want to do something about it. Good luck Eric...
