Not the cure to all my problems?

I've been very busy over the last couple weeks and I haven't had the chance to play around with Motionbased at all. So, the problem of uploading data still exists. That could be user-error however. But, this is certainly not (I don't think).

One of the things that I really liked about getting a Garmin was that I spend some time on the road for work and it allows me to go out on runs without really knowing an area. Well, I went out on a tempo run in Boston yesterday and had some problems. The Garmin kept losing the satellite (I'm assuming because of the size of the building I was near) and coming up with some weird readings. So, all in all, I know how long I ran. But, I don't know how far I went. That stinks. I guess it is just something I'm going to have to plan for and run in a park or something. But, I wish I would've realized that earlier.

In regards to the run, it went much better than yesterday (that was easy). I did a 10 minute warm-up at about 10 minute miles and a 15 minute stretch at about 8 minute miles. Then, cooled down for another 5 minutes at 10 minute miles. So, 15 at 10 minute miles and 15 at 8 minute miles overall. It felt good and I'm glad I was able to fit it in. 8 meetings in 2 and a half days makes life kinda hectic.

Run recap- 3.375 miles, 30 minutes, 8:53 pace

I love my Garmin. BUT, it does seem to have a number of satellite issues whenever I'm away from my home base, where it NEVER has issues. If I travel somewhere else, it gets real finnicky about getting and retaining a signal. It could be the tall buildings. Or it might have troubles switching to a new location?? Don't know but this sounds all too familiar.

Yeah, from time to time, especially on stormy days it will have trouble with connecting to satellites for me as well.

From what you are describing I would say you are right, the building were likely making it difficult for it to get a good signal.

That is always disappointing. Though, I think over time, you will get lots of good use out of it.

Good luck.
